Perspectives on Transitional Justice– the SRRP at Harvard’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy

On April 12, 2019, the SRRP joined Harvard’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy in a discussion with former Colombian President Juan Manual Santos on the Integrated System for Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition, created as a result of the landmark 2016 peace accord between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrillas.

The SRRP shared its perspective on the role of symbolic reparations in the peace accord’s ‘Integrated System’ of transitional justice. Along with other leading researchers in each of the four areas of transitional justice, we sought to identify adequate measures for evaluating the institutions created by the peace accord to address victims’ rights to truth, justice, reparation and non-repetition.
